ABOUT EASY KISSES:

The Boudreaux Series. Sexy. Intriguing. Easy.

Simon Danbury, an internationally sought after motivational speaker, helps women from all walks of life with love, self-esteem, dating and career building skills. Handsome, witty and wealthy, Simon seemingly has everything a man could want.

But appearances can be deceiving.

While Simon may have the answers for millions of women all over the world, when it comes to his own love life, he’s a giant, sexy mess. Divorced, and convinced that he’ll never love again, the very last thing he expects is one Charly Boudreaux.

Charly doesn’t want to be at this seminar in the middle of nowhere, but her sister made her go. She’s the one who has her life together. Great career, amazing family, nice home, and loyal friends. So what if she doesn’t have a man? She doesn’t need one. If she’s learned anything in her almost thirty years, it’s that men are more trouble than they’re worth.

And they have a nasty habit of breaking your heart into a million tiny pieces.

So she’ll sit through all of Simon’s touchy feely crap and go home and get on with her life. Except Simon isn’t really spouting crap, and when he smiles at her, the butterflies are ridiculous.

Never mixing business with pleasure, Simon finds Charly, a bright spot in a universe that’s been dark for too long. But will he be able to resist her?

And why would he want to?

Review
(by Cindy)

It’s becoming too much like habit to say, “I think this is my favorite book of the series,” every time, but I can’t seem to help myself.

Easy Kisses is book number four in the Boudreaux series by Kristen Proby. There seems to be a pattern developing here. I’m really liking the “sister journeys” in this series. Gabby’s was touching and heart melting, and I just have a feeling Savannah’s is going to be a poignant tear-jerker given what we know she’s been through. I was really looking forward to Charly’s story though. She’s the sister who seems to have it all together. She’s got spunk, and that happy, carefree personality. Charly is tenacious, with an I-am-woman-hear-me-roar obstinacy about her. I couldn’t wait to see her in action, and Charly did not disappoint.

When Charly lets her sister, Savannah, talk her into attending a Lift seminar with the promise of a much-needed two week “vacation” in Montana, she could have never predicted how life-changing her decision would be. The last thing Charly needed was to be in a room with a bunch of desperate woman searching for their self-worth. Charly has confidence in spades, but she also has an unrelenting affection for her well-meaning sister. Of course, the time away does have a certain appeal to it.

What apparently also has appeal (or maybe I should say “who”) is Simon Danbury. He’s the self-help guru who leads the Lift seminars. Simon is tall – very tall (don’t you just love that?) – with dark hair and piercing blue eyes. Gorgeous doesn’t quite cover it really. Throw in his sexy British accent, and it’s no wonder there’s a waiting list for women to get into his seminars and retreats. In addition to his painfully sexy good looks, Simon also has a strong work ethic, but damn if that isn’t tested the minute he lays eyes on Charly Boudreaux.

Kristen Proby is the queen of the sweet romance. In Easy Kisses, though, she’s taken romance to a deeper level with these characters. Simon’s lectures force Charly to acknowledge some troubling realities about her view on love and relationships. Apparently, however, Charly isn’t the only one who’s struggling in that department. Simon is forced to face some ghosts that, until now, he’d convince himself had already been laid to rest, but his feelings for Charly challenge him to reevaluate things he thought he’d dealt with years ago.

Easy Kisses is a heartrending look at love and hurt, forgiveness and healing. But don’t worry, the author manages to work in what every Kristen Proby fan has come to expect: the amusing banter with the girls, and the witty repartee between siblings. The playful teasing is refreshing. And can I just say, there’s something… I don’t know… hot about protective alpha brothers who don’t hesitate to communicate with their fists when it comes to defending their sisters’ honor. You gotta love the Boudreaux clan!

Five easy stars!

“Hi there, handsome.”
“Well, hello, love.”
“You know,” I say as I lock the door behind him, then walk to my counter to close out the till and get ready to leave. “I’ve discovered that since you’ve been here, you’re very bad for my productivity.”
“How is that?” He leans on the counter and braces his chin on his fist, watching me.
“I’m closing the shop early, for one.”
“I do believe the sign in the window says you close at six.” He checks his watch. “And look at that, it’s six.”
“I haven’t actually closed at six since…well, I don’t remember. I usually chat with customers, redesign displays, shop for new stock. But most of that has been set aside because I seem to be spending most of my time with a certain sexy Brit. It’s a good thing you’re cute.”
He raises a brow and stands to full height, taking my breath away. His ink is on display again in a simple black T-shirt, stretched over wide, muscular shoulders.
Where did my knees go again?
“Cute, am I?”
His accent gets even thicker when he’s turned on, and it’s on full blast now.
“Adorable.”
He slowly circles around the counter and leans into me, pinning my hips against it. His lips are inches from mine.
“I don’t think a man is supposed to be cute.
“No?” Oh, God, I can’t breathe right when he’s this close to me. His hands are on my hips now, his fingers under the hem of my blouse, and then gliding up my skin and over my bra to cup my breasts.
“We shouldn’t do this here.” Is that my voice? I sound breathy and turned on, which is pretty accurate.
“No one is here,” he says and brushes feather-soft kisses over my cheek to my ear. My body is one giant shiver. Thank God for the giant display I built today that blocks us from outside traffic.
As if by their own volition, my hands make their way down the back of his jeans to cup his very fine ass just as he nips my neck, making me gasp.
“How cute am I now?” he whispers, never taking his lips from my skin.
“You’re just precious,” I reply, hearing my own accent thicken along with his cock pressed to my belly.
“You make me laugh,” he says, smiling against my neck. “You make me so hard it hurts. And I’m grateful that you’re wearing a skirt.”
“Why is that?”
He reaches down and balls the material in his fists, raising it above my waist.
“You’re not wearing panties,” he says with surprise, his blue eyes pinned to mine.
“Not today.”

Review
(By Cindy)

I can sum up my review in one word: Perfection. Sheer and utter perfection.

Always is Book Five of the exquisite Spiral of Bliss series by author Nina Lane.  Hands down, this series has put me through every imaginable emotion more than any series I’ve ever read.

Dean and Liv West are the perfect couple. Yes, their life is peppered with laughter and tears, pain and joy. They’ve basked in the light, and persevered through darkness over the course of four beautiful novels. The one unwavering element, the thing that has seen them through it all has been their steadfast love and devotion to one another. It’s a quirky, sometimes dorky love that has made me smile, a deep and erotic love that has sped up my heart, and a fierce, dependable love that has twisted my heart nearly to the point of breaking more than once.

Dean West is his wife’s champion in every large way, as well as all of the small ones. Life has definitely given the Wests some battles to fight, but the Professor has never hesitated to don his suit of armor and slay every dragon for his Beauty. The latest dragon, though, is headed straight for Liv, and this time, her white night is powerless to stop it. There is nothing Dean can do but be a spectator, watching helplessly from the sidelines as the love of his life wages her own crusade.

Liv is fighting a terrifying real-life battle, and author Nina Lane treats this difficult and painful topic with great care and sensitivity. While Liv’s pain is real, the struggle Dean faces is no less painful. His instinctive need to protect his wife from every possible enemy leaves him literally paralyzed with fear, reversing their roles, casting Olivia as Dean’s champion. It’s Liv’s turn to save her professor.

Excerpt (with the author’s permission):

From Dean’s POV:
                                “Liv.”
                                “Right here.”
“You… you live inside me.” I press a hand to my chest, my heart that beats in rhythm with hers. “Everywhere. You are the key to every part of me.
“Except when you build walls that have no doors or locks.” She lifts her head, her eyes warm and gentle. “I can’t force my way in, Dean. You have to let me in.”
I have to keep her in, this woman who has all the power in the world over my pain. She’s my fire and my freedom. She’ll always be the girl who saved me.
“I will.” My voice is hoarse. “I promise.”

The series has been written from alternating POVs throughout, and the author continues to tell it from that approach in Always.  I love the alternating POVs, because it allows me to not only read, but feel the story along with the characters.

All the Spiral characters are here for this final book. Readers see the Wests at their best (and sometimes their worst) as they struggle to keep life in balance for Nicholas and Bella, the son and daughter that bring them more joy than either of them could have ever imagined. Their Mirror Lake friends surround them with constant support, including Dean’s irrepressible best friend Kelsey, and his brother Archer. Kelsey and Archer make more than mere cameo appearances in Always, and I love that Nina brings them back as a vital part of Liv and Dean’s final story.

Always is an emotional read. It ebbs and flows with all the things readers have come to love and expect from the author and these characters.  From their corny playful banter, to the silly love notes, to some of the hottest erotic scenes ever written, Always will compel you. Gonna need tissues, and lots of them, but it will be so worth the tears.

Six PERFECT stars. This series is one on a very short list my must re-reads.

Into the Light by Aleatha Romig - Tour and Review

An investigator's search for a friend draws her into a world darker than she could have imagined.

Sara Adams awakes blind, unable to remember the most basic details of her life, but her darkness seems a blessing when she discovers the terrors of The Light.

Stella Montgomery investigates the news on the mean streets of Detroit, where she’s noticed a disturbing trend: young women are vanishing. When her best friend disappears, Stella investigates—despite warnings from her police detective boyfriend—following a twisted trail that leads her through the city’s most dangerous and forsaken precincts. There she uncovers something more sinister than she could have imagined: a shadowy organization known as The Light, led by the enigmatic Father Gabriel.

As Sara struggles to understand her place in the strange world she’s awakened to—an oppressive cult demanding unquestioning obedience—and her feelings for Jacob, the husband she can’t recall and whose harsh and tender attentions confuse and beguile her, Stella risks all to discover the truth. But enlightenment always comes with a price...

Review
(by Cindy Meyer)

Have you been Aleatha’d?

It’s a saying among Aleatha Romig readers; one that only someone who’s actually experienced what that feels like could truly answer.  Admittedly, it’s an experience I’ve “suffered” numerous times, and it’s happened again.  Into the Light is book one of Aleatha Romig’s The Light Series.

I always expect twists and turns when it comes to this author. At its best, the anxiety keeps me up into the wee hours of the morning. At its worst, I can’t read for more than a chapter or two without having to put the book down and find something to distract me from the building anxiety. Into the Light caused both.  The prologue alone is the kind of stuff movies are made of.

Stella Montgomery’s best friend has disappeared. As a top investigator for a leading news station in Detroit, Stella uses her connections to try and find out what has happened to her friend and colleague, Mindy. Through her contacts, she stumbles upon a staggering statistic: Detroit boasts the disappearance of more women per capita than anywhere else in the Country. Is it possible that the two are connected?

Sara Adams wakes blind from a coma, trapped in a world she can neither see nor remember. The followers of The Light, including Jacob, her husband, speak and act with a sense of familiarity that Sara can’t explain, but she’s somehow convinced is real. She struggles to recall a memory, anything that can connect her mind to events before the incident that landed her in the hospital.

Despite the insistence of The Light’s followers, Sara’s inquisitive instincts have her questioning whether the submissive manner of the women of The Light could have ever been the Sara they say she was. The men of The Light demand obedience, and her husband – Jacob – is swift to issue punishment when Sara falls short of those expectations. But Jacob is also fiercely protective and tenderly loving. It confuses Sara. He’s affectionate in one minute and exacting in the next. It’s a dichotomy that brings her both comfort and fear.

I always find myself trying to stay one step ahead of Aleatha Romig’s stories. Half the fun is attempting to figure out where she’s going before we get there. Into the Light challenged me to do the same. The story alternates between characters, weaving a story of both intrigue and outrage. The author is careful and crafty in leaving clues – tasty little morsels that, if I wasn’t watching out for them, I could have read right past, not stopping to pick them up to savor.

Of course, in true Aleatha Romig style, the biggest shoe drops in the last one percent – YES! I SAID 1% -- of the story, leaving me right where I, honestly, expected to be: deliciously hanging until Away from the Dark (later this year).

So, let me answer my original question.  Yes! I’ve been Aleatha’d.  Have you?

Five amazing stars!

Excerpt

Sara
My thoughts drifted to that night after service, the hunger in Jacob's touch and the way his lips had claimed my body. Just the memories made me tingle. Lying back on the bed, I held my side and sighed. If only he weren’t so worried about my ribs.

Courtesy of the truck ride yesterday, the injury was more aggravated then it had been. I’d tried hiding it. Shaking my head, I wondered if it was possible to hide anything from him. According to Elizabeth it wasn’t allowed. The way I saw it, I wasn’t lying. I was withholding information for the benefit of both of us. By the way his breathing became labored and his body hardened that night at the clinic, I wasn’t the only one who wanted to make love.
It seemed as if it didn’t matter if I told Jacob what I was thinking or not; he knew. Somehow he always seemed to know, sometimes even before I did. Maybe it was because we’d been together so long.
If only I could remember how long.
The sound of the rising garage door pulled me from my carnal thoughts, and I covered my cheeks. With a giggle I hoped they weren’t as flushed as they felt. If they were, he would know what I’d been thinking . . . I shook my head. I didn’t want that conversation. Exhaling, I willed the pink away.
When I heard the garage door lowering, I stood and made my way toward the stairs. Wearing the boot on my right foot made walking with my cast much easier. As I approached the landing, I took a deep breath and visualized the stairs. Since I’d counted them multiple times, I knew there were fifteen steps. I might not have my sight, but I was trying to be as self-sufficient as possible. I made it only to the second step from the top when I heard his voice.
“Sara?”
“I’m coming down,” I called, taking one step at a time, cautious not to go too fast.
Even before I reached the bottom step, I knew he was there. When we went to service, I’d realized why I associated him with the scent of leather; it was his coat. When he wasn’t wearing it, just the right amount of aroma lingered around him. When he wore it, as now, the leather scent was overpowering. That, plus the sound of his boots walking and stopping on the wood floor, prompted me to stop on the fourteenth step. If I went one more, I was afraid I’d run into him.
“Sara.” His voice came from very close.
Gripping the banister, I tilted my face toward his. Smiling and hoping my cheeks had returned to their normal color, I replied, “Yes?”
“Did you hear the garage door go up?”
“Yes.”
“And what did you think that meant?”
“I assumed it meant you were here.”
“So you knew I was home and yet you chose to not greet me?”
What the hell?
“Answer me,” he demanded, his tone now too calm. “Why weren’t you waiting for me at the door?”
The thoughts I’d entertained upstairs evaporated. I knew this tone. I not only recognized it, but with everything in me, I wanted to avoid it. My heartbeat quickened and my mouth dried like the Sahara. “I was on my—”
Interrupting, he rebuked, “On your way is not there, waiting as you’re supposed to be. When I return, I expect to find you waiting for me, greeting your husband.”
The bubble of apprehension that had waned and waxed in my chest since I awoke nearly three weeks earlier began to grow. “At the door . . . wh . . . I’m sorry . . . I didn’t know . . . you didn’t tell me to—”
He grasped my arm, the harsh movement a stark contrast to the eerie calmness of his voice. “Do tell, Sara, are you blaming me for your forgetfulness?”
What the hell is his problem?
“I’m sorry,” I pleaded. “I’m not blaming . . . I didn’t remember. If you told me . . . from now on, I’ll do it.”
“Must I remind you of everything?”
“I’m trying to remember; I am. I’ll be there from now on, at the door, when you come home.”
“Perhaps you need a reminder?”
My body sagged and my knees weakened. The bubble within me grew and popped, filling my nervous system with dread. “No. I don’t need a reminder. I’ll remember from now on. Please give me another chance.” If it hadn’t been for his iron grip on my forearm, I might have fallen to the step where I stood.
If I had, I wasn’t sure if it would have been because of the sudden dizziness his tone induced, the bout of trembling, or that it would’ve enabled me to beg. It wasn’t something I was proud of considering, but to avoid his belt, at that moment, I was willing.
“Sara, go to the door.”
Inhaling more pleas, I nodded. When he released my arm, I stepped down and down again. Around the steps, past the closet, I found the door between the living quarters and the garage.
He was right behind me, his voice still eerily calm. “You may stand or kneel; the choice has always been yours.”
I swallowed the vile bile bubbling from my stomach. In that moment I couldn’t for the life of me fathom that merely minutes ago I had been having pleasant thoughts about this man. I also couldn’t imagine kneeling.
Who does that?
I brought my feet together, straightened my neck, and said, “I’ll stand, thank you.”
He reached for my chin and lowered it.
“This is where you are to be when I arrive, and if you choose to stand, your head will be bowed.”
“Yes, Jacob.”

Excerpt

Ah, so she liked to banter. That would do just fine. He ran his hand along the silk of his tie as he drank her in, his eyes sliding down her face, settling on those lips.“Depends where Point B is.” She raised an eyebrow as she ran a finger along the top button of her light jacket, then down the front, all the way to the belt cinched tight at her waist. A summer breeze carried through the cooler night air.
“Point B is where I’m heading tonight,” he said, his voice confident, his eyes following her hand.
“Point B, you say?”
“Would you like to know what Point B is?”
“Perhaps I’ll find out soon.” She tilted her head. “What about adventure? How would you rate boats for that?”
“Some”—he lingered on the word—“can be playgrounds for adventure.”“And perhaps for trouble then, too.”
He reached for the end of the belt on her jacket, fingering the material. “Why do I think you like both trouble and adventure?”
Raising her chin, she held his gaze. “I’m in the mood for adventure right now. How about you?”
“I’m equally adept at both.” His fingers traveled up the belt to the knot in the middle. He had no intention of untying it, though. Point B didn’t require the removal of clothing.
“What sort of adventure can a stranger like you have with a woman like me?” she asked, her breath catching for a second when he skimmed a finger across the exposed skin of her collarbone.
His palm found the back of her neck. A sweet little gasp escaped her lips. “I could tell you,” he murmured, leaning closer, “or I could show you.”
She grabbed his tie and tugged him closer. “What if I want you to do both?”“Then, gorgeous, you’re about to get a big show and tell."

A WILDLY SEDUCTIVE NIGHT - mouthwateringly teaser

Lauren’s sexiest couple ever, Julia and Clay, are back!

That’s right! Fans asked and Lauren is delivering!

The one question Lauren has received regularly in the last two years since the publication of ONE MORE NIGHT, the final novel in the Julia and Clay story in the Seductive Nights series, is “Can you please tell us what Julia and Clay are up to now?”

A WILDLY SEDUCTIVE NIGHT is the answer to that reader request!

Review by Cindy

I love those series! You know the ones. They have characters who, even though they are fiction, you fall in love with them as if they were real. You can’t seem to get enough of them, and you’ll read anything the author writes that allows you, if even for a few delicious paragraphs, back into their lives. Clay and Julia Nichols are those characters for me. A Wildly Seductive Night (Seductive Nights 3.5) by Lauren Blakely, is the latest check-in with Clay and Julia (plus one)!

In this installment, Clay Nichols, Entertainment Attorney, and husband of Julia, takes sexy beyond the next level and into the stratosphere. He still has the sexy, filthy mouth that makes Julia’s (not to mention readers’) panties both wet and flammable at the same time. But I ask you ladies, is there anything sexier than seeing a dirty talking man turn to putty in the hands of his daughter? Tea parties. Playdates in the park. Oh my God! Mark my words, there will be ovaries bursting all over the reader world tonight!

Julia’s career is flourishing. She’s famous, of course, for her Purple Snow Globe cocktail. She owns one of the hottest clubs in New York City, and she’s now a judge on a new hit reality TV show for bartenders. Did I mention she’s married to what might possibly be the sexiest dad on the planet (and she knows it)? Julia feels no shame for reaping the benefits of being the complete and utter fixation of her husband’s affection. She definitely has it all. What woman doesn’t want to be successful in her own right, while being treated like a queen and f##ked like a porn star? Julia is one lucky gal!

A Wildly Seductive Night is a delightful (did I mention steamy) novella – just 17 chapters – but they are 17 of the hottest chapters you’ll read all summer.

Five sizzling summer stars!
